Ana serves as the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Mercy University, a member of the East Coast Conference (ECC), in Westchester, NY, since June 2022.
In the 2025 season, Ana led the Mercy Mavericks to the most successful year in program history. She was named East Coast Conference Coach of the Year after guiding the team to the ECC Regular Season Championship and ECC Tournament Championship, while advancing to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the first time in 24 years (since 2001). The Mavericks finished the season with a 22–5 record, the best record in 24 years. Under Ana’s leadership, the team produced the ECC Player of the Year, ECC Setter of the Year, and three AVCA All-Americans. Winning the ECC Championship and reaching the Sweet 16 marked the program’s first appearance at that stage since 2001.
In just her third season, Ana led the Mercy Mavericks to their second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in 2024, marking another historic achievement for the program. The team not only advanced to the tournament but also recorded its highest number of wins since 2005. Under Ana’s leadership, the Mavericks secured several individual honors, including Rookie of the Year and Setter of the Year.
This followed a standout 2023 season in which the team reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 18 years, advancing to the Round of 32 and securing their first NCAA Tournament win since 2001. The 2023 season also saw the Mavericks achieve their highest win total since 2005, with Ana coaching both the ECC Player of the Year and Setter of the Year.
In the 2022 season, she led the team to their best record since 2005, achieving a 13–7 record and securing a Top 10 spot in the NCAA East Region rankings. Ana was also responsible for coaching the 2022 ECC Setter of the Year.
Before joining Mercy University, Ana served as the Head Coach of the CCNY Men’s Volleyball program from January 2015 to May 2022. During her six seasons, she achieved notable success, including six NCAA Statistical Champion Awards, two Players of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Libero of the Year accolades. Her teams in the 2018 and 2019 seasons were awarded NCAA Statistical Champion Awards, finishing first in the country in “Aces per Set.” Ana’s coaching prowess was further acknowledged as she was named CCNY Coach of the Year for the 2019 season, and her men’s volleyball team received the Most Outstanding Performance by the Male Team award.
In 2015, Ana joined St. Francis College Brooklyn as a volunteer assistant coach for the NCAA Division I program. Her impact was immediate, contributing to the team’s best result in program history with five wins in five weeks.
Ana has also been a presenter at the AVCA – American Volleyball Coaches Association Convention. In December 2019, she shared insights on “Defense Systems – Pros & Cons,” emphasizing different defensive strategies to build successful programs. This marked her second appearance at the convention, with the first in December 2015 alongside prominent figures such as Colorado State Head Coach Tom Hilbert and two-time Olympian Lina Taylor.
Before her tenure at CCNY and St. Francis, Ana served as the head coach of the professional FIVB Women’s Volleyball team Obilic Belgrade, Serbia, during the 2013–2014 seasons. Under her leadership, the team achieved an impressive top-four finish in the Serbian First Volleyball League.
Ana boasts a remarkable 17-year playing career at the highest FIVB level. She proudly represented the Serbian National Team for five years. Throughout her playing career, Ana competed in prestigious professional leagues across Europe and beyond, including Serbia, Italy, Germany, Greece, Turkey, Spain, Austria, Romania, Poland, Russia, and Puerto Rico. Her participation extended to FIVB European Cups, including the CEV Cup, Top Teams Cup, and Champions League.
Her outstanding achievements on the court include clinching three National Championships, two National Cups, and earning the title of National Vice-Champion (Runner-Up) twice.
Ana’s extensive experience as both a player and coach solidifies her as a prominent figure in the world of volleyball.
